fine toddler carrier
I bought the Stokke in order to wear my 16-month-old facing forward in front of me.  She had grown out of her Baby Björn carrier.  She liked to be close to adult eye level and interact with people, especially when I  more was out running errands in the local shops.  I found that this carrier works well for that.
But it's by no means a perfect all-purpose carrier.  After owning it for a couple of weeks and using it for going to the shops and (in backpack mode) for serious day hiking, I've found that there are three problems with it.
The first is that, although I've probably put it on ten times now, I still have not found an efficient way to get my daughter into it.  The process is still complicated and fiddly; I was expecting to master it after a few uses, but this has not happened.
The second is that it's worse for sleeping than the Baby Björn was.  If she tries to sleep facing forward in the front, there's no support for her head, and when she slept in the backpack position she got a little red mark next to her eye where her face rubbed against the carrier.
The third is that it puts pressure on the wearer's shoulders and back rather than hips.  (The Baby Björn had the same problem.)  I was hoping that the metal bar used in back-pack mode would provide some relief, but it doesn't really.
