Info

The Manduca Carrier is a comfortable and supportive baby and toddler carrier, with a unique integrated insert, allowing you to carry your baby from newborn (3.5kgs/7.7lbs), all the way up to 20kgs/44lbs.  Your baby is held in a correct sitting position, with adjustable support to provide a comfortable and safe carrier for both of you.

The Manduca Carrier is constructed from a cotton/hemp mix material which is both strong and supportive, while the inner layer is 100% organic cotton, giving your baby softness and cosiness where most needed.  The padded shoulder straps adjust in 3 ways, giving you a perfectly tailored fit, and the ergonomic waist belt helps to evenly distribute even the heaviest baby's weight.  the straps can be worn crossed over or straight.  Integrated sunshade for sleeping or discreet breastfeeding.

The Manduca Carrier has three carrying positions: on the front facing inwards (suitable from birth onwards), on the hip (suitable from when your baby can sit up unaided) and on the back (likewise, from when your baby can sit unaided).  We recommend that you should start carrying your baby on your back as soon as they reach this milestone as it is more comfortable for you, and also allows them to see more of the world around them!

Available in a range of colours, each carrier comes in a storage box complete with written instructions.

worth every penny!
I couldn't live without my Manduca, it was an essential item when my son was newborn. He wasn't a very big napper so I struggled to get the smallest things done in the day. Soon as I bought the Manduca (when he was 4  more weeks old) it freed up my hands and also made him instantly fall asleep! I could do everything with him strapped to me, and it meant he got some much needed sleep too!
The Manduca is very easy to use, easy to get the baby in and out of (I can get him out without waking him up) and is incredibly comfortable. As my son grows the Manduca is still working its magic, he is now 5 months old and loves being close to me, but can also look around and take in his surroundings. I can't wait till he's a bit bigger so I can wear him on my back!!
I have recommended this carrier to numerous friends and they are all equally pleased. The price initially felt quite high, but i think it is worth its weight in gold. Unlike other carriers (the popular baby bjorn) this carrier can be used in various positions front, back and on your hip and will last you a long time.

Manduca Baby sling
This is the third sling I have purchased and definately the best. The first one was a BB Sling with the rings in the shoulder which is very pretty but I thought very confusing to use and somehow dosent seem secure  more enough for the baby, the next one I had was a borjn which is quite good I mean I've had no issues with it but I found out that babies should have their legs supported more to avoid damaging their hips and In that one their legs dangle down in which apparently is not good. I had a personal recommendation from a lady who had the manduca and loved it and seeing her 8 month old son in it who looked very happy and contented made me enquire. I tried ergo baby and the manduca in the shop and although they were both comfortable etc, I prefered the manduca as the material is very soft and feels comfortable, it has lots of straps which can be adjusted which at first seems daunting but you get used to it and as soon as baby in it she just seemed vey content and comfortable. It just felt right. Since I've had it it has been a bit of a struggle at times to get the baby in cos their legs need to in a different position to the borjn but generally I'm very happy with it especially when baby is crying and I'm at home and need to get things done so can put her in  nd she's happy. It is very comfortable the only thing I would say is to spend some time getting the straps adjusted to your body once that's done it's fine. Also different to the borjn in that you really need to support and hold baby when putting them in but ladies in the shop were very helpful and gave us some handy hints and very good service.

Excellent, versatile and comfortable
The Manduca is one of the best SSCs I have tried. The adjustable back system allows it to grow with your child. It is easy to use and very comfortable for both front and back carries, and crossing the straps at the  more back makes front carrying more comfortable. The waist band is padded all the way round, so very comfortable too.
I haven't used the infant insert so can't comment on that, but it does allow you to use it from birth (or when your baby is 3.5kg) unlike many other SSCs which cannot be used until about 6 or 7kg.
The only disadvantage of the Manduca is that the shoulder straps are quite long.
