Why people bought this product

“I saw my friend using hers at the weekend and thought it would be a better fit for my 7 month old, rather than the baby bjorn we currently have.”

“I did extensive research into baby carriers and decided this had almost all the features I was looking for (none had absolutely everything i was looking for): breathability in hot weather, three different carry positions, good ergonomic support for me and baby, a hood and pockets, and a fairly high back so baby cannot lean backwards and fall out.”

“The carrier I have is really uncomfortable and I have had this recommended to me by several people. I also like that you can wear your baby on your back and hip too.”   more

“I wanted a lightweight carrier for using in hot weather and on long walks.”

“Fitted what we were looking for and good reviews”

“I have one and its great so i'm buying it as a gift.”

“My little one loved being in a wrap but is now too big and the carrier given to me by a friend doesn't support my back or my little one very well. After lots of research , I decided this was the one for me, my little one and my partner too.”

“It is a great product”

“I tried it in the Bristol shop - I went there as I'd heard from friends that it was a great place to try out carriers (with your famous weighted dolls!). We'd love you to reopen a shop in Bath!”

“I've heard only great reviews on the baby carrier ! :)”

“taking 22 month old daughter to see Southampton versus Manchester United on Sunday!”

“I want to be able to take my baby out without the pram, for quick walks with the dog and the longer ones.”

“It is suitable for smaller frames (my wife is tiny) and means we will be able to take our son for walks in areas we might find the pushchair difficult.”

“reviews are great”

“I have heard very good reviews about this carrier on Mumsnet. Also, the colour is great!”

“i am editor at mumsjustlove and am reviewing this product and your shop. thanks x”

“for my wife who needs to care for her back”

“WE BEEN READING REVIEWS ON HOW IS A NUMBER ONE PRODUCT. SPECIFICALLY I CHOOSE THE ERGOBABY PERFORMANCE BECAUSE I NEEDED SOMETHIN MORE FRESH FOR OUTDOORS. ALSO I NEED IT FOR THIS WEEKEND & I LIKE THAT BORN HAD THE OPTION OF NEXT DAY DELIVERY :) THANK YOU & CANT WAIT FOR IT! :)”

“I want to be able to carry my baby on my back, but don't want one of the big structured backpacks. This came highly recommended by a friend.”

“a friend recommended this as a great follow on carrier after the BabyBjorn which we are now unable to use comfortably as our son is now quite heavy.”

“I needed a carrier that provided back support so that I could carry an older child.”

“I love ERGOBaby carriers and we're moving to Malawi soon so wanted something lightweight and breathable for our little boy.”

“I went to a baby and toddlers group where there was a demonstration of baby slings and carriers. I wore the ergo carrier and was surprised at how the weight was evenly distributed and how easy it was to wear and strap in my baby. It saves time in having to get the buggy out and assemble it. I have two hands spare to carry on with my work.”

“we live in the north of Morocco so we were looking for a cool lightweight carrier that we could use from birth for as long as possible.”

“The original ergo works well for my partner but is a little uncomfortable for me. Apparently the Performance is better suited to the male form....hope so :)”

Ergo Baby Performance Sling
I have two girls and I used slings for both of them, I just wish I had bought this first instead of the other 3 main makes I tried before.  It is the most comfortable sling I have tried and I bought this when my  more youngest was 18 months old as I didn't want to take a pushchair on holiday.
I have used it nearly everyday for the last 6 months and even though my daughter has just turned 2 it is still very comfortable with no back ache at all.  The padding on the straps is excellent, the pockets are fantastic for fitting a nappy and bits and bobs in and you can also get a bag that clips to the bottom which is like a mini tardis and you can fit everything in.  Im only 5ft 1 so I needed a sling that was fully adjustable and this does the job better than any other  I have seen and tried.  I have even had my 4 year old in it  and is still very comfortable, this sling is definitely worth the money .  The only one not so positive thing I have to say is it does take a little while to get used to putting your child on your back unless you have someone to help but  as your child gets older it gets much easier and my little one loves being in it.

Excellent!
It took me a long time to choose a baby carrier and i am very happy I finally chose the ergo performance. Its simple to use, small and light, yet very comfortable as the weight is on your hips not your shoulders. The  more design is not girly at all so my husband is happy to use it. We love it!

Might be ok for larger babies..
Very lightweight and compact carrier, decent back support for the parent, but we found that the child is crushed against your body by its own weight. Maybe would be less of an issue for a larger child, but our 5 month  more old couldn't move at all - in a bad way - and the squish got worse every time you breathe. Yes, we could adjust it more loosely, but then the shoulder straps fall off you and the baby falls out the side..
Unlike many carriers this is nothing more than a wrapper for you AND the child - there is no internal shell around your own body to allow separate adjustment for your own comfort and the child's. You would be better off with a sling, because this doesn't even stretch like a sling would.
And to charge over a hundred quid (market-leading pricing, no less) for a carrier that's fundamentally much simpler than most competitors is somewhat taking the mickey.
Thanks to Born for a reasonable returns policy and we have our money back and have purchased a competitor's product that solves these problems.

Best carrier out there, especially if you have back problems
As a person with back pain I can't recommend this product enough.
I also own a Bjorn infant carrier which was great when my baby was a newborn, but now that he is over 8kilos I can't comfortably carry him for more  more than 30 minutes. Those carriers really hold the babies weight around moms neck and shoulders, ouch!
I bought the Ergo because I knew it would grow with him and be less painful for me for longer periods of time as the weight is distributed around the hips vs the shoulders. I can honestly say it's the best baby gear purchase I have made. I can wear him comfortably for hours without any back pain and baby likes it too!
My husband and I are both tall so the Performance works great with our body types. It's also lightweight and doesn't get baby or us too hot.
I love my Ergo Performance carrier and I can't wait to take baby on hikes and really test the performance aspect of this pack as he gets a bit bigger.

Ergo performance
I struggled for ages to choose a carrier for our toddler to use on long walks, we were recommended the ergo by several friends and also a baby wearing consultant. It has been even better than we hoped. Compact enough  more to fit in our bag when little boy is walking, comfy for us and him, really well made and the three carries are all easy enough to do( with a little practice!) my only tiny quibble is that my partner is very tall (6'5) and we have to adjust the ergo quite a lot so that my toddler is in a good back carry position- this would not be a drama if just one parent using the carrier or if you don't swop frequently when out on walks. All in all and excellent product that is well worth the investment.
